Introduction

The 25th European Men's Amateur Team Championship takes place from the 3rd to the 7th July 2007 at Western Gailes Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland.

As governing body of the host nation, the Scottish Golf Union is proud to bring Europe's premier amateur team event to the Home of Golf, for the first time since 1981. The biggest names in European golf have graced this championship throughout its history and we hope that many of the competitors lining up at Western Gailes in July will go on to emulate their success.

The Scottish Golf Union is committed to Growing the Game, Supporting our Clubs and Developing Talent and the third strand in our strategy reflects why we are delighted to bring the European Championships to Scotland. This championship provides a great stage for our country's leading amateur golfers, who are already proving to be fantastic role models and an inspiration to our young golfers. We wish them well, as we do all the European nations competing in the championship.

Western Gailes is one of the jewels in the crown of Scottish links golf and one of the reasons why so many golf visitors flock to Scotland year in, year out, to play our great courses and hidden gems. Ayrshire and Scotland welcomes visitors to the 2007 European Men's Amateur Team Championship and hope that in between supporting your home country you can take time to play the surrounding courses during your visit.
